National Institute of Marine Geology & Geoecology of Romania (GeoEcoMar)
Join distinguished Earth scientist Mihaela Melinte for a compelling keynote exploring how marine geological records unlock the history of Earth's climate system. Drawing on decades of research in paleoclimate, stratigraphy, and marine micropaleontology, her talk will illuminate the dynamics of ancient greenhouse worlds, rapid sea-level fluctuations, and major oceanographic disruptions such as Oceanic Anoxic Events and the Messinian Salinity Crisis.
Through the study of calcareous nannofossils and isotopic signals, Dr. Melinte reveals how past environmental changes shaped ocean circulation, biodiversity, and regional basins such as the Mediterranean and Paratethys. Her keynote will highlight key discoveries on Mediterranean reflooding processes, Late Neogene sea-level variability, and Cretaceous climate instability—offering valuable analogues for understanding current and future climate change.
Attendees will gain a deeper appreciation of how high-resolution geological archives inform predictive models and guide interdisciplinary approaches in Earth and environmental sciences.

Universiti Utara Malaysia
The rapid advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has significantly reshaped contemporary education, necessitating innovative, data-driven approaches to instructional design and evaluation. This study examines the integration of educational technology, research methodology, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. It highlights how ICT-enabled tools can support interactive, learner-centered environments while emphasizing the importance of robust statistical methods in assessing educational impact. Drawing on empirical insights and practical applications, the paper demonstrates how SEM can be utilized to analyze complex relationships among variables such as learner engagement, technological readiness, and academic performance. The findings underscore the value of combining instructional technology with advanced data analytics to inform evidence-based educational practices, offering meaningful implications for educators, researchers, and policymakers in advancing technology-enhanced learning.

National Institute for Marine Research & Development "Grigore Antipa"
This keynote explores the integration of environmental science, maritime systems, and data-driven technologies to support a sustainable future for coastal and marine environments, with a focus on the Western Black Sea region. It highlights innovative applications of machine learning and integrated marine data, including predictive modeling of coastal dynamics, automated classification of underwater acoustic environments, and advanced assessment of microplastic pollution. The presentation also introduces tailored coastal vulnerability indices that capture the combined effects of hydro-geo-morphological factors and anthropogenic pressures, enabling more accurate and actionable environmental assessments.
In addition, the keynote addresses key challenges affecting sustainable transport and marine ecosystems, such as underwater noise pollution and vulnerabilities in navigation systems like GNSS. Emphasis is placed on the importance of continuous monitoring frameworks aligned with international environmental directives, as well as the fusion of in-situ and satellite data for improved decision-making. By demonstrating how digital innovation enhances maritime safety, environmental protection, and resilience, the talk underscores the critical role of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing sustainable transport systems and safeguarding coastal communities.

Naval Academy Constanta, Romania
The research synthesizes findings from multiple domains, including ship hydrodynamics, HVAC optimization for special-purpose vessels, wave and wind energy conversion in the Black Sea region, and the application of unmanned surface vessels for environmental monitoring. Special emphasis is placed on improving energy efficiency in propulsion and auxiliary systems, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and integrating renewable energy sources into maritime infrastructure.
Advanced simulation techniques are employed to model fluid flow behavior, thermal processes, and system performance under varying environmental conditions. Case studies demonstrate the effectiveness of optimized ventilation systems, scrubber wash water treatment modeling, and innovative propulsion enhancements in reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Additionally, the role of digitalization and autonomous systems in supporting sustainable maritime operations is explored.
The results highlight the potential of interdisciplinary engineering approaches to support the transition toward greener transport systems. The proposed methodologies contribute to the development of resilient, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible maritime solutions aligned with global sustainability goals.
